A year ago, I wrote a round-up of my favorite celebrity couple how-they-met stories, leading with Paul Bettany watching 9/11 happen on a TV in Italy and calling Jennifer Connelly right there and then to propose.

In my ongoing search for proof of the existence of love, I have since found more cute how-they-met stories, some of the couples famous, some not, all sweet:

Alan Alda was at a college party when he made a girl laugh, and then a rum cake fell on the floor, and he and the girl were the only two brave enough to eat floor cake, so a year later they got married. Still married.

Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan worked on the Voyager “golden record” project for a year and became friends. Then one day they were chatting on the phone and decided to get married. They had not kissed at this point. It worked.

This insane story that’s probably not true but as they say on The X Files, I want to believe.

And friends, I’m not gonna lie, as we approach their one year anniversary, I’m thinkin’ ‘bout Trav and Tay! Many a celeb couple has come from one famous shooting their shot with the other via the DMs or elsewhere, but there’s something so wholesome about how these two American treasures ended up together.

The tale begins last July, when Swift was single for the first time in years, and posted pictures from her Fourth of July hang with some gal pals on Instagram, writing, “Happy belated Independence Day from your local neighborhood independent girlies See you tonight Kansas Cityyy,” referring to her upcoming tour stop there.

One of her ticket holders in Kansas Cityyy was tight end Travis Kelce, a known fan of her music, who came up with a clever way to get his phone number to the singer: put it on a friendship bracelet (trading bracelets is a new fan tradition at Swift shows). But as he later explained on his podcast, Swift doesn’t do meet-and-greets after performing, so he never got to give her his bracelet. Nevertheless, someone put them in touch, they began texting, then dating, then dating in public. But that’s just the cute part. This is the sweet part:

He’s obsessed with her. He treats her like, well, like every man should treat his girlfriend. Look at them! The “cheer more” gesture! If you’re not at least a little charmed, see a doctor.
