It’s sort of basic and douchey to blame all your problems, thoughts and feelings on the relative position of Saturn.
It’s equally basic and douchey to mock those who seek meaning and understanding through the ancient wisdom of the stars.
I do the latter anyway.
Now that the creator of “angel numbers” has given an interview saying she made them up and they’re not real, I feel comfortable going on the record as an astro-hater. It’s not real! It doesn’t make any sense! I say this as a girl with a moon tattoo and a black cat. I like witchy stuff and if you want to sip absinthe and pull tarot cards, honey, I am there. But I can’t condone the amount of time, energy, and most crucially, money that my generation spends on this hobby, throwing around science-y words like “chart” and “practice” to cover up what is essentially many delusional besties telling each other exactlyyyyyy.
I wrote a more fair-minded piece about it, like with interviews and reporting and stuff, for Bustle, which you can read here.
I predict (based on my experience, not a crystal) that this take will get me as much if not more backlash than my screed against people who don’t drive…
I was once chewed out on Twitter for comparing astrology to those quizzes that sort you into a Hogwarts house.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
To be clear, I don’t think people who like astrology are bad or stupid. Just that they’re bad and stupid about this topic. Come at me bros and bras.
Maybe my new thing will be hot takes no one asked for and even fewer want. I’ve recently been thinking about how unhelpful bike lanes are in LA. Biking is a hobby it’s not a good way to get from one place to another in this city. Invest in the bus! I say this as a non biker who also doesn’t take the bus.
It is what it is,

PS. My top top TOP YouTuber Lindsay Ellis got unfairly canceled a couple years ago and defected to Patreon, but she returned three months ago with a mammoth manifesto about the female partners of famous men, coming to the same conclusion I did: YOKO INNOCENT.
I finally got around to watching it this week and it’s as insightful as I expected, and sadly relevant given Liam Payne’s recent death.
Watch it, it’s not a bummer slog, I promise.
